Schwungrad Energies Rhode facility was expanded to accommodate the demonstration of Adaptive Balancing Powers new adaptive flywheel and Freqcon multi-source inverter.

Adaptive Balancing Power and Freqcon deployed their technology successfully and Schwungrad Energie installed a new Distributed Control System from Valmet Automation to manage the hybrid installation

 

The plant operated for over six months testing one flywheel with a nominal capacity of 250kW plus 160kW of batteries.
